The artist line-up reads like a who’s who of Northwest talent
~ Coyote Kings w/Mush, with special guest Kenny “Blue” Ray: The hosts of the WWGF, Coyote Kings w/Mush, have established themselves as a Northwest Roots radio & blues festival favorite. They are 2011 WBS IBC State finalists & were nominated in 2011 for Best New Blues Band by the IEBS. They are known for their high-energy stage performances featuring the jaw-dropping vocals of Michelle “Mush” Morgan. Their new CD “Move” made it to the second round in the IBC’s for Best Self Produced CD, and also garnered a rave review (9 stars) from Blues Review Magazine, calling it versatile, solid & sexy.
Joining CK w/M at the fest is Kenny “Blue” Ray: When it comes to hard-hitting blues guitar, Kenny is the real deal. He has appeared on close to 40 recordings, including appearances with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marcia Ball, Ronnie Earl, Charlie Musselwhite, Anson Funderburgh, and many others. “Blue” will be lighting up the stage with the Kings & Mush at the fest.
~ Jimmy Lloyd Rea & The Switchmasters: Jimmy Lloyd is a Blues Hall of Fame recipient and a Muddy Award Hall of Famer too! This John Lee Hooker & Canned Heat alum will bring the Baker City Barbecue to you, along with his longtime guitar player “The Reverend Danny G.”
~ The Randy Oxford Band: Featuring Manuel Morais & Jho Blenis on guitars. IBC finalists, Randy & crew have established themselves as a premier party band on a national scale, with festivals already booked this year in San Diego, Maine, The Waterfront, & their annual return to the Legendary Blues Cruise coming in 2012. WWGF is proud to be the first fest of the year to have them!
~ Kevin Selfe & The Tornadoes: Representing Portland, Kevin & band are three time Muddy Awards’ Blues Act of the Year winners. They are true blue and righteous & light up the stage at every turn.
~ Sammy Eubanks: We call him “The Voice,” but Sammy is also a great guitarist. He’s a BB Award & (multiple) Empire Award winner who mixes blues, rock, & a little country, to come up with his own stellar sound.
~ Junkyard Jane: Led by “Little Devil,” Billy Stoops on guitar, multi BB award winning Junkyard Jane is a perennial Northwest fest fav. They’ll bring their bourbon fueled bluesy Roots gumbo to the WWGF. It’s always a great party when Junkyard Jane is in town.
~ The Vaughn Jensen Band: Vaughn is a smokin’ guitarist who tears it up with passion and heart. Besides his set, he’ll be co-hosting the All-star Jam with Curtis “Rocket” Johnson.
~ Joe Smart & Laredo Drive: National flat-picking champion, Joe Smart, will be here with his new “Dog-grass” band, mixing rock, blues, jazzЕ everything but the kitchen sink with their traditional bluegrass roots.
~ Gary Winston & The Real Deal: Walla Walla native, Gary Winston, spent many years the house band at the Hiatt Regency in Hong Kong. With phenomenal guitar playing and a true-to-soul voice, Gary & The Real Deal play classic R&B, smooth blues, and can “bring the Funk,” like no other.
~ Wasteland Kings: Hailing from La Grande, OR, these Kings are a great new Roots band, mixing blues, Rock-a-Billy, & Country. Great guitar oriented tunes to please a new audience.
