Ladies and gentlemen, please allow us to introduce the “world’s greatest tribute band” - The Rolling Tones! Honoring the group that musical historians acknowledge as being highly instrumental in the modern rebirth of the appreciation of the blues, as well as a resurgence in the careers of many blues artists including Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Willie Dixon and Buddy Guy. By covering several seminal blues songs in the early ‘60’s, then touring with their “heroes” throughout the last 40 years, the Stones have helped to “pass the torch” to new generations of listeners as well as inspiring countless players to get back to the roots of their craft.Starring Andy Madson on lead vocals, guided by the twin guitar attack of Bob Louthan and Tim Baltus, and supported by a stellar rhythm section of bassist Dan Golden, drummer Gene Wood and keyboardist Jack Codron, this cast of local all-stars really captures the spirit of blues and rock & roll in all its glory. Utilizing period costumes, spot on renditions of the “classics” and a great sense of purpose, this entertaining act has been performing for capacity crowds throughout the Northwest. Recent shows at the Rose Festival, The Venetian Theatre, Oregon Zoo Brew 2009, WINESTOCK, CLACKAMAS LIVE, the Portland Roadster Show and a string of casinos and festivals have met with critical acclaim and sold out venues.
Friday night Sept. 18, starting at 9pm, The Rolling Tones will make a rare Portland appearance at the legendary Refectory, located at 1618 NE 122nd. Promoters are already predicting a sold out room, so get there early for preferred seating, then stay for a “meet and greet” after the show. Experience the glory and power of the blues with this exciting and entertaining tribute extravaganza. For updates, check their website: www.myspace.com/rollingtonesmusic.
