Assembly at Chemawa Indian School, 3/10/04
To: Jimmy "Fast Jimmy" Hale, Blues In The Schools Coordinator for the Cascade Blues Association From: Miguel Loredo Reyes, Home Living Specialist Subject: Chemawa Indian School & the CBA Date: 03/15/04
cc: Nadine Tallbull Blackman - Student Services Specialist, file Dear Jimmy and the Cascade Blues Association, Thank you and the Cascade Blues Association for your support of our evening music program. The donation of the guitar from the Blues for School benefit was a wonderful addition to our small collection. Our community was truly honored by the gift. Students have been using the guitar in tutoring sessions held by our staff. Recently, CBA member Mark Lemhouse has been coming onto the campus to provide guest instructions; he has volunteered five 90 minute instruction sessions and is scheduled to perform an assembly on April 7, 2004. At our most recent School assembly, "Village Meeting" held on March 10, 2004, The Original Snakeboy was a great hit with the students. Attached are several pictures with students and staff that stayed after the assembly to visit with Snakeboy. What a great show! We are looking forward to the planned assembly with your as our guest performer; additionally, we hope to host a special "Blues Night" for our students in late April. Again, thank you very much for the support and presence on our campus. |
